Smart four-year-old Settle Strada ($2.50 favourite) began well and was eased to get a good trip, fifth one off the rails, between runners. He eased out (four wide) on turning in the straight, showed a good turn of foot to take the lead at the 100m and then went on to win comfortably by just over a length. Kalahaar was sixth on the rails, got a split on turning for home to move to third at the 200m and then battled on nicely for a good second. Zester was third on the rails to the turn, got an inside run from the 200m and kept fighting on for the minor placing while outsider Highly Toxic ($61) led to the 400m and held on fairly well to run fourth, beaten just over three lengths. *ANZ
