Battle Hero was quickly away and then eased to obtain a good trip in fourth place on the rails. He was going well on turning for home but was blocked before William Pike angled him to the rails nearing the 100m, he hit the front shortly afterwards and then went on to win well. Magnifisio raced outside the leader (Dawn Approach) travelling at a steady tempo. She got to the front at the 200m and then battled on well for a sound second after seeming to have every chance. Luckygray was eighth, between runners, but was cluttered up nearing the home turn. He switched across heels at the 200m, got to fourth at the 100m and kept making ground in the sprint home to finish a very sound third, resuming here at his first start since last May.
