The UK import Jet Away made an auspicious Australian debut. Jet Away settled in front of two in the 13-horse field. The attractive six-year-old stallion went to the extreme outside on straightening and overwhelmed his opposition in the closing stages to win, going away by over a length at the post. Zabisco was sixth three wide without cover before improving nearing the turn. He got to the lead at the 200m but had no chance with the winner’s late-closing run to finish a sound second. Prizum was about sixth, one off the rails at the 600m, got a nice split to challenge at the 200m, then battled on for third after having every chance. The top weight Wall Street raced outside the leader Galileo Gold to the turn and fought on well under his 60kg to finish (2.3 lengths) fourth. The well-backed UK import Ranked ($3 fav) was midfield with cover to the 600m but failed to run on, finishing (3.7 lengths) ninth. *ANZ
