Eight-year-old gelding Snippets Land showed a return to form with a late-closing second in the Liverpool City Cup (Gr 3, 1300m) at Randwick on March 2 and he followed that with a good win here. He settled back in seventh place, tracking a good tempo, was asked to improve by Blake Shinn rounding the home turn, responded to hit the front at the 100m and then went on to win well. Richard Bensleytrained mare Who's Knocking raced back in sixth place, was held up on the rails on turning for home, got clear at the 150m and then came with a late run to take second, looking somewhat unlucky. Levee Bank settled at the tail of the 11-horse field, remained there until taken wide at the home turn. She then ran on really well for a late-closing third. The favourite Flow raced back in fifth place, improved at the home turn, overtook the free-running leader (Mercurial Lad) and hit the front at the 200m but then battled on under his top weight (59kg) for (1.5 lengths) fourth.
