After placings at his first four starts Liberty’s Choice broke through for a good win. He showed good pace and gradually worked to the lead approaching the 600m and he then kept running along, setting up a clear break at the turn. He stuck gamely to his task in the straight and went on the score well by two lengths. He is an honest colt who should win plenty of races. Senior Council led early and after being pressured (by the eventual winner) eased to race in second place from the 600m. He battled on well from that point to hold that position to the post, putting up a nice effort. Saintly Lad was second last in the eight-horse field to the 600m where he was giving the leader about seven lengths. He stuck to the inside and continued to make good ground for (three lengths) third. It was promising effort on debut. *ANZ
