The David Payne-trained colt Rock Hero, a son of the dual Group Two winning mare Gallant Tess (Galileo) broke through for an easy win here at his fourth start. He drove through from his inside barrier (1) to take the lead. He then set a moderate pace in the small four-horse field before getting a break nearing the 600m marker. He continued to increase his lead and drew right away in the straight to score impressively by just over six lengths, running the 1550m out strongly. He only carried 51.5kg but he does look very promising and seems suited to further. Top weight (59kg) Liberty’s Choice, a good winner at this track at his previous start, raced in second place throughout. He was under pressure to keep with the eventual winner from the turn and kept battling on for second. Rivariva, a winner at his first and only start at Warwick Farm earlier this month, was third all the way and was beaten just over eight lengths after having every chance. *ANZ
