The Paul Perry-trained colt Scratch Me Lucky won very well here. He was smartly away from his inside barrier (1), then eased and settled nicely in seventh place on the rails. He improved quickly between runners rounding the home turn, dashed to the lead passing the 200m and drew clear to win by a length and three quarters. It was a nice effort especially carrying top weight (58kg). The Chris Waller-trained Country Warrior has now raced twice for two seconds. He was fifth on the rails, went to third at the 200m and battled on quite well, just finding the winner too strong. *ANZ
