Godolphin-raced colt Grunderzeit raced in third place on the rails in the small four-horse field. He angled across heels and into clear running on straightening and then finished well to score by half a length in a decisive manner. He looks suited to further and is worth watching. The Chris Waller-trained Kipling raced outside the leader, went to the front at the 200m but found the winner too good in the closing stages, holding on for second while Beaudragon led to the 200m and battled on for third after having every chance.
