Let’s Make It Rain put up a good effort to score his first win in four starts, his second run this preparation. He travelled well behind the leader (Turbo Miss) following a good tempo, before moving up rounding the home turn. He took the lead at 200m and then went on to win comfortably. Tatoosh remained in last place in the fivehorse field to the home turn. He switched deep on straightening, made a quick run to challenge at the 100m and then fourth on well for a good second. Inner Circle was fourth on the rails, went to third at the 200m and briefly looked a threat before battling on for third at this first run since March. Favourite Vanbrugh raced back in third place, one off the rails, made a run rounding the home turn but was under pressure from the 200m and then tired for a disappointing (3.7 lengths) fourth. Turbo Miss went to the front and set a good pace to the 600m before tiring for (5.8 lengths) last.
