The Godolphin-raced colt Coruscate impressed winning here on debut. He led early on from his inside barrier (1) before settling in third place on the rails. He eased three deep nearing the home turn, took a while to wind-up in the straight before hitting the front at the 100m and then drew away to win comfortably, looking suited to further. The Gerald Ryan-trained Albumin soon crossed to the lead. He then travelled well in front and kept fighting back gamely when challenged in the straight for a good second on debut. Sedition, a stablemate of the winner, raced outside the leader (Albumin) and kept battling on quite well in the straight to hold the minor placing, also racing on debut.
