The Chris Waller-trained colt Higher Ground looks a promising young stayer, now winning two (with two placings) from five starts. He settled nicely in third place, behind a steady tempo but was under riding when the pace increased at the 700m. He responded to challenge the leader (Chain Of Fools) at the home turn, went to the front at the 200m and then drew away to score quite impressively, albeit in only defeating three rivals.
