Kiss A Rose was ridden patiently, being eased to settle second last, one off the rails. She went back to last at the 600m before switching to the extreme outside on turning for home. She put in a fast run approaching the 200m, challenged at the 100m and finished too well to score a narrow but impressive win. Metastasio settled behind the leader and raced keenly in the early stages due to the moderate early pace. She was blocked for a run in the straight, before finally getting an opening on the rails at the 100m, she then finished quickly to just miss, finishing second. Chloe In Paris was quickly away and went straight to the lead and then steadied the tempo (first 600m 36.73). She fought back gamely when challenged in the straight, putting up a particularly good run in a Group Three event at her first start. Se Sauver was second last in the ten-horse field to the 600m. She switched out wide on straightening and ran on nicely for a good fourth, beaten just under a length. Spirit Of Heaven was near last on the rails, following a moderate tempo. She failed to get clear running at any stage in the straight and went to the post well in fifth place, beaten just under two lengths. It was a promising first-up run. Montsegur was about eighth, one off the rails, between runners. She eventually was eased out to last at the 200m after being blocked in the straight and came with a late run for an unlucky sixth. *ANZ
