Smart filly Eloping showed her usual pace but could not cross to the lead and was forced to race outside the Tudor who held the lead from his inside barrier (1). She got the better of that horse rounding the home turn, held a clear lead on passing the 200m and went on to score impressively by almost two lengths in good time, 1:09.54. Sultry Feeling travelled nicely in third place one off the rails, went to second at the home turn and kept fighting on gamely to hold that position to the post, without threatening the winner. Husson Eagle was back in sixth place on the rails, he stuck to the inside on turning for home and got through along the rails over the final 200m to take third, putting up a sound effort. The speedy Tudor drove through to retain the lead, was slightly crowded and shied losing ground rounding the home turn and then battled on again in the straight for a good fourth.
