Miss Rose De Lago went to the front as expected and then ran along at a solid tempo (first 1200m 61.24). She held a good break on turning for home and was not threatened at any stage in the straight to score an impressive all-the-way win. Into The Mist was well back in eighth place until the 600m and made up good ground (without looking likely to trouble the winner) to take a good second. Amarela was back in sixth place, was under riding from the 600m, got to a distant second on passing the 200m and then battled on well for a sound third.
