Lumosty settled in second last place in the eight-horse field, angled for a run rounding the home turn but was held-up until clear nearing the 200m and finished fast to grab a joint-win, then protesting unsuccessfully against that other dead-heater. SA-trained Éclair Choice had a nice trip in fourth place, between runners, moved up strongly at the home turn, hit the front at the 50m but was caught on the post for a shared victory. Ball Of Muscle soon crossed to the lead, he the set a good tempo and held the front until the final 100m, tiring late for third.
