Divine Prophet backed up his consistent form this preparation in taking this Group One race out, narrowly but well. He settled nicely in seventh place on the rails from his inside barrier (1), switched back to the rails at the 200m, hit the front at the 100m and fought back gamely to score in a photo. Seaburge was back in 11th place, went between runners at the home turn, switched deep at the 200m and then came with a strong late run, just missing in a photo, to take a very good second. Hey Doc raced in ninth place, improved (wide with cover) at the 600m, briefly looked the winner when he took a narrow lead at the 200m and then fought on well for a close-up third. The favourite Impending settled back in third last place in the 14-horse field. He improved (wide with cover) from the 600m, went widest of all at the 300m and kept running on for (1.5 lengths) fourth, putting up a sound effort, without looking a winning chance over the closing stages. So Si Bon was near last to the home turn and caught the eye in running on late for (1.7 lengths) fifth.
