The favourite Jameka, the 2015 VRC Oaks (Gr 1, 2500m) winner was most impressive in taking out her second Group One victory. She began well and had a good trip in fifth place, one off the rails before moving up well from the 600m. She challenged at the home turn, dashed to the front at the 200m and then raced away to score decisively, running the 2400m out strongly looking primed now for a Melbourne Cup (Gr 1, 3200m) bid. The Godolphin-raced Scottish was wide in the early stages and worked before settling in fourth place. He then made a quick move, as the pace slowed, to take the lead at the 1200m. He was only headed at the 200m and then fought really well for a very good second at his first Australian start. Exospheric was back in tenth place, moved up well (wide) from the 600m and kept running on well for a very good third also at his first Australian start. Almoonqith was back in 12th place, improved between runners from the 600m and kept running on nicely in the straight for a good (4.3 lengths) fourth. Real Love soon crossed to take the lead, she then eased to race in fifth place on the rails. She switched into clear running on straightening and then kept battling on well for a good fifth, beaten just over five lengths.
