From barrier two Hooked bounced away better than anything and led for a few strides before settling into a handy fourth, one off the fence. Rider Luke Nolen maintained their perfect spot and straightening for the run home they were three out and ready to pounce, which they did at the 200m. It took another 100m to gain the lead before coming away in the final 50m for a narrow win. Charmed Harmony took over the pace at the 1200m, led narrowly to the turn then skipped a length clear but was overhauled inside the 100m for a solid second. Turbo Miss was midfield, locked away on the fence past the 600m, got out before the turn and ran on fairly to hold third from Rocket Commander who straightened fourth (fence) and ran on to hold his position.
