Peter and Paul Snowden-trained filly Catch Me, an impressive winner of the Gimcrack Stakes (Gr 3, 1000m) at Randwick in September, scored a very smart win, resuming here to remain undefeated in two starts. She began well and settled in sixth place from a wide barrier (10) racing deep without cover before moving up at the home turn. She then finished gamely, hit the front on passing the 100m and went on to score a very smart victory, in quick time. Jedastar, an impressive winner at Flemington on debut on January 1, again showed her pace but was forced to work from barrier nine before crossing to the lead. She got a break coming to the 200m and then fought gamely for a very good second after her early efforts. Mick Kent-trained filly Shih Tzou settled back in ninth place from a wide barrier (11), improved (deep) rounding the home turn, moved up to challenge halfway down the straight and then battled strongly for a very good third in a most promising effort on debut. Pretty Brazen raced in fourth place (with cover), moved up to challenge at the 300m and then kept battling well for (2.4 lengths) fourth. Anaheed was third on the rails and held on nicely for (2.5 lengths) fifth. Lindsay Park-trained filly Biscara raced in seventh place on the rails and ran on quite well when clear for (2.6 lengths) sixth, resuming here.
