Analysis: Beaten Up enjoyed a good run seventh on the rails most of the way to the 600m. He was travelling well at the turn, got clear on straightening where he was about five lengths from the leaders. He put in a good run, getting to second at the 150m then battled on strongly to win well by three quarters length. Foreteller raced in eighth one off the rails to 600m where he was asked to improve. He turned for home, wide out and about seven lengths from the leaders, putting in a strong run to get to fourth at the 100m then fighting on gamely for a very good second. Secret Admirer was in front of only three horses at the 600m before going very wide at the home turn. She put in fast dash in the straight, making up a lot of ground, staging up a good performance for third. Manighar raced outside the leader (Zurella) and looked the winner when he dashed clear on straightening. He was only caught in the closing stages to finish fourth, beaten only a length. Lights Of Heaven was given a good run by Luke Nolen, racing in fifth place one off the rails most of the way to the 600m. She switched out wide rounding the home turn and fought on well for fifth after being giving every chance. *ANZ
