Analysis: Belltone had a good run in fourth place one out and one back, but he was held up between runners from the 600m until passing the 200m. When clear, he accelerated quickly and drew clear for a good win. Mahisara worked across from his wide barrier (14) to be third, but was trapped three wide without cover. He got to a narrow lead at the 100m then fought back well after his hard run for a very good second. Listen Son began smartly and went straight to the lead, setting the pace until well into the straight. He only tired in the latter stages for a sound third, beaten one length. Morning Captain was midfield and very wide to the 600m and he ran on quite well for a good fourth. Fire Up Fifi ($5.50 fav) was eighth between runners and was blocked on turning for home.
