Zoustar maintained his unbeaten record now making it three starts for as many wins. He got a good run behind the leader (Rosenet) to the turn. Jim Cassidy angled the colt between runners at the 300m to challenge strongly at the 200m before drawing clear to win well by just over a length. His stablemate Vilanova raced just past midfield, three wide with cover, before improving (still wide) at the 700m and made the home turn four wide. He challenged at the 200m and fought on gamely for a very good second. The filly Bound For Earth was about eight but trapped three wide without cover. She moved up at the 600m (still wide) and put in a good run to take a narrow lead at the 200m and then fight on well for a good third after a difficult trip. Paximadia was about seventh between runners to the home turn. She was under pressure from the 200m but kept running on to just grab fourth at the post. Hooked was midfield and then very wide from the 600m, but she put in a good run to challenge at the 200m and then battled on quite well for a sound fifth. The favourite Missy Longstocking ($3.60) was midfield on the rails to the 600m and had trouble getting clear on straightening, but appeared to finish off moderately in the latter stages to finish ninth, beaten just over five lengths. *ANZ
