Big Money took his record to eight wins from 14 starts in scoring decisively here in this Group Three race. He began well and travelled nicely in fifth place (between runners) before commencing his bid on straightening. He then put in a strong run, hit the lead at the 100m and went on to win in good style by just over a length. Someday had a good trip from barrier three, racing in sixth place on the rails, following a good pace. He stuck to the rails on turning for home going through to challenge at the 100m and then fought on for a good second, finding the winner a bit too strong. The classy Cape Kidnappers travelled well in fourth place, one out and one back. He moved up nicely on turning for home, looked a danger when he challenged at the 200m and then battled on for a sound third at his first run since June. Into The Red settled just past midfield, between runners. He was still well back nearing the home turn, switched out at the 300m and then ran on well for a promising (1.8 lengths) fourth while Riva De Lago caught the eye, finishing on from last in the 12-horse field for (2.1 lengths) fifth.
