Murwillumbah-trained filly Kebede was a surprise winner but it was a good effort nevertheless. She began well and settled nicely in fourth place, following a good tempo, before being shuffled back a bit nearing the home turn. She switched into clear running at the 200m, challenged at the 100m and finished too well to score in good style. Sebring Sally settled in midfield before making a quick (wide) mid-race move from the 700m. She got to the front at the 250m and was only caught nearing the post to finish a really good second after working in the earlier stages. The favourite Imposing Lass had a difficult trip in the early stages from her wide barrier (15) before racing outside the leader (Lyricist) from the 1200m. She got to the front at the home turn and did well in holding on for third after a hard run. Self Esteem was handy all the way, moved up nicely coming to the home turn and kept fighting nicely for (1.6 lengths) fourth.
