Transporter enjoyed a nice ran on the quarters of the leader and eventual runner up Topping. The race was run to suit with the first two around the home turn fighting out a tight finish with the favourite Transporter only proving slightly the better over the concluding stages. Topping was game in defeat. He led and fought hard the whole way to the line to only go under in the final strides. Margins followed the winning in the run, he had every chance in the straight and battled on gamely for third, indicating that a step up in trip would suit. *ANZ
