Red Tracer began well from her wide barrier (16) and crossed quickly to fourth early. She then enjoyed a good trip from the 800m in third place, following a solid pace. She got a split to challenge at the 200m and fought on gamely to win by a head after a perfect ride by Nash Rawiller. Floria had a good run about sixth on the rails from her good barrier (1). She got through to fifth at 200m and continued to run on well, switching back to the rails in the closing stages, for a late-closing second. Arctic Flight began smartly, led early then raced in second place chasing the new leader (Steps In Time) from the 800m. She got to a narrow lead at the 200m and then battled on very well for a close third. The favourite Fire Up Fifi ($3.60) was back about eighth one off the rails to the 600m. She put in a run at the 300m and kept running on well, without really looking a winning threat, for a sound fourth, beaten just under a length. Discreet made up a lot of ground along the rails, coming from the tail of the field at the 600m, for fifth. Miss Stellabelle ran on well from a long way back for sixth while Steps In Time worked from a wide barrier (17) to lead clearly from the 800m, and only tired from the 200m for a sound seventh, beaten two lengths. *ANZ
