The filly It’s Poets Day began smartly and was travelled strongly, trailing the leader (They Call Me Bolt) in the centre of the track, until switching out at the 500m. She moved up to take the lead at the 200m and then drew away to win decisively by two lengths, relishing the wet conditions. The well supported Legcut ($3.50 fav) was eased early and settled about eighth, just behind the leading division, racing closer to the inside rails. He put in run passing the 400m, got to third at the 200m and then continued to battle on quite well for second. They Call Me Bolt showed good pace to lead the field until passing the 200m point. She then held on fairly well to finish third, beaten just under four lengths. Easy To Look At ($61) came from near last at the 800m to run (four and a half lengths) fourth. *ANZ
