Rising Romance settled well in fifth place on the rails from her inside barrier (1). She improved between runners (in restricted room) at the 400m and ran on late for a very good second. Entirely Platinum gradually worked forward from his wide barrier (12) to race outside the leader (Hi World) and they then travelled at a moderate pace. He got to the front at the 200m and then battled on strongly for a close-up third in the sprint home. Boban settled back in tenth place before looking to improve, behind runners, rounding the home turn. He finally got a split at the 150m and finished well late for an unlucky (0.5 lengths) fourth. Happy Trails raced in eighth place, one off the rails. He moved up well on turning for home, looked a winning chance when he challenged at the 300m and then kept fighting on for (0.7 lengths) fifth. Promising four-year-old Alpine Eagle settled back in 12th place before improving (wide with cover) rounding the home turn. He put in a good run from the 300m and continued to make good ground in the sprint home for a most encouraging (0.8 lengths) sixth. Mongolian Khan had a nice trip in fourth place, one back and one out. He challenged at the 400m and continued to battle on for (1.6 lengths) seventh, being unsuited by the slow early tempo. Gust Of Wind was back in second last place in the 14-horse field. She stuck to the rails from the home turn and made ground for a sound (1.9 lengths) at her second run this preparation.
