He was held up on turning for home, got a slit at the 300m, challenged at the 100m and then finished too well to score quite impressively. The United States was back in sixth place on the rails, got an inside run on turning for home, got to the front at the 200m and then battled strongly for a good second. Stratum Star was a distant fourth, moved up well at the 400m, challenged strongly at the 200m and fought well for a good third. Kenjorwood went to the front and then set a cracking pace (first 1000 58.34), leading the field until passing the 200m and then did well in holding on for (3.7 lengths) fourth.
