Godolphin-raced colt Trenchant was a most impressive winner. Having his third race start, he settled in eighth place, but trapped deep. He tracked up nicely (wide with cover) rounding the home turn, sprinted quickly to take the lead at the 200m, raced clear shortly afterwards and then went on to score easily, running the 1400m out well.
