The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained filly Invincible Star made a most impressive winning debut in taking out this Group Three race. She showed good pace to lead the group on the Grandstand side, narrowly behind the leader (Madeenaty) racing on the rail side of the track. She then took a clear advantage at the 100m before going on to score decisively. The Anthony Cummings-trained filly Lucky Louie also raced on the Grandstand side but did not have any early pace and was back in last place before improving from the 400m. She got to a distant fifth shortly afterwards and kept making ground to take a promising second, at her second start.. The favourite Madeenaty displayed good pace the lead on the rails side and held a commanding break over those rivals at the 400m. She then did quite well in fighting on for third after being left in front by herself on the rails side of the track a long way from the post.
