The classy mare Lights Of Heaven raced in fourth spot one off the rails before moving up three wide at the home turn. She took a while to wind-up in the sprint home but she lifted in the closing stages, running on well to win by a long neck. Foreteller was trapped three wide without cover near the tail of the field. He moved up wide approaching the 600m and was still giving the leaders about five lengths at the 300m. He kept running on well, making good ground for a late-closing second. It was a good effort. Transporter raced outside the leader (Ginga Dude), got to a narrow lead at the 100m and held on nicely for third. Lamasery was eighth one of the rails before improving three wide from the 800m. He challenged wide out at the turn then kept fighting on for fourth, beaten only three quarters length. Lightinthenite had a good run behind the leader (Ginga Dude) before getting a rails run to take a narrow lead at the 200m then battling on for fifth, beaten only a length. Danleigh was last in the 11-horse field to the 600m then fanned wide on straightening. He made up good ground to finish sixth, beaten length an quarter, being unsuited by the moderate early tempo. *ANZ
