Last season’s Queensland Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Tinto appreciated stepping up to 1800m at her fourth run this preparation to win in easy fashion. She was well ridden by Tim Bell and enjoyed a good trip in fifth place on the rails after starting from a difficult barrier (14). She moved through to challenge at the 300m and proved the superior stayer over the latter stages, drawing away to win decisively despite her 59kg top weight. She is a good mare and is likely to prove effective if she tackles stronger southern states races over the autumn.
