The favourite The Odyssey was quickly away from his inside barrier (1) and went to the front as expected. He then held out some early pressure (from Sugar Boom), got a break on turning for home and then held on gamely in the Heavy 10 conditions to win well, his fourth win (two placings) from seven starts. Miss Cavallo settled in last place in the 12-horse field, improved nicely nearing the home turn and then came with a late run (widest of all) to take second just in front of Ready To Roam who had been sixth rounding the home turn before running on nicely for third with Perudo a close-up fourth after being a handy third at the home turn.
