Queen Kay, a filly from the Toby and Trent Edmonds stable, staged a smart effort in winning here when racing on debut. She was eased from her difficult barrier (10) and after being last early on, settled in seventh place. She looked for a run between runners at the home turn, switched closer to the rails in the straight and finished gamely to grab victory nearing the post. The favourite Smart 'N' Sexy was slowly away from her inside barrier (1) settled in second last place before improving to be seventh at the home turn. She moved up well at the 200m, took a slender lead at the 100m and then fought well for a close second. The Tony and Calvin McEvoy-trained filly Bribery did not respond to early riding and settled in seventh place on the rails before being checked approaching the home turn. She then switched deeper at the 200m and steadily made ground to finish third in a sound performance at her second start.
