The Anthony Cummings-trained three-year-old Best Case was slowly away and was last in the nine-horse field on settling. He was still giving the leader about six lengths as he started to improve at the 600m. He fanned wide rounding the home turn, challenged at the 150m and finished gamely to win in a photo.
