Gary Portelli-trained three-year-old gelding Vincero resumed after his debut third in a Hawkesbury Maiden (1000m) on 9 October with a promising win here. He was slow to move and settled in last place in the six-horse field before moving up (deep) approaching the home turn. He then ran about, racing greenly in the straight but proved too good claiming a good win (wide out) nearing the post.
