After showing potential in his first two starts, the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained colt Aussie broke through for his first win here. He began well from his inside barrier (1) and went to the front. He then travelled well and despite racing greenly halfway down the straight, where he drifted deep on the track, he then fought back to score quite well. Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained colt Dresden Green raced wide in a midfield position, put in a run in the centre on the track at the 200m and kept battling on well for second in a promising effort on debut with Godolphin's filly Bollywood making good ground (wide) from the tail of the field for third.
