The consistent Dany The Fox got a good run behind the leader (Royal Mail) but was held up for a run nearing the turn after a slow pace in the mid-stages. Glen Boss angled skilfully between horses after turning for home and the $3.40 favourite drew clear to win by almost two lengths at the post. The well performed New Zealander Wall Street, with top weight of 60kg, worked across early from his wide barrier (13) and travelled outside the leader before moving clear on straightening but he could not hold off the winner, who had a 6kg advantage, in the latter stages. Cosmic Causeway had a good trip in fourth place one off the rails, moved up wide at the turn, and battled on for third after having every chance.
