The consistent Self Sense made it seven wins and six placings from 21 starts in taking out this Listed race. He began smartly but was trapped deep in the early stages from his barrier (10) and eased to settle midfield, following a strong pace. He fanned very deep rounding the home turn, ran on strongly in the centre of the track and lifted nearing the post to score by a head, putting up a good performance. The Irish-bred gelding Wish Come True was ridden quietly and settled near the rear. He improved between runners approaching the home turn, got a split on straightening, challenged strongly at the 100m and fought on well for second. Happy As Hell was eighth on the rails, got an inside run nearing the home turn, challenged at the 200m and fought on for a close-up third. Bec Said No Credit battled on well for a close-up fourth after being a handy sixth to the turn whilst the favourite Priority Road went back to last after being caught deep in the early part, went wide coming to the home turn and then ran on fairly well in the straight for (3.3 lengths) fifth.
