After showing promise with thirds at his first two starts, the Heath Conners-trained three-year-old Villa Sarchi broke through for his first win here. He was smartly away from his wide barrier (10) and worked in the early stages before crossing to the front. He then set quite a good pace, turned for home with a clear break and then fought back to win well.
