Admiral made it four wins from five starts in taking out another stakes race after winning the Elwick Stakes (Listed, 1100m) at his previous run. He again did not show much early pace and settled seventh on the rails. He switched out nearing the 600m, moved up well wide-out rounding the home turn, got to the lead half-way down the straight and proved too strong to win by half a length. It was a good effort. Geegees Doublejay was handily placed, three wide with cover. He put in a quick run out wide on the turn, challenged on straightening and fought back well for a good second. Toothless led the field to the home turn and held on for third, beaten three and a quarter lengths. *ANZ
