I'm Wesley, recent winner at this track of the Newmarket Handicap (Listed, 1200m) on November 21 made it back-to-back stakes victories with a very good win here, repeating his success in the same two stakes races last year. He was again smartly away and then settled outside the leader (Count Da Vinci). He moved up to that runner nearing the home turn, got to the front at the 150m and then went on to score comfortably. Count Da Vinci was quickly away and went to the front. He picked up the tempo mid-race and led the field until halfway down the straight before fighting back for a very good second after running a bold race. Lord Da Vinci raced in third place most of the way, moved up at the home turn, and then fought on well to hold that placing to the post.
