In a close finish where the first five horses finished less than a length apart, the seven-year-old gelding Blaze Forth was the surprise winner, his 13th win in 49 starts and a first at stakes level. He settled in a nice spot, fourth on the rails, got a split at the home turn and then fought best to grab victory nearing the post. Mandela Effect raced in eighth place, one off the rails, made a wide move rounding the home turn and came with a strong late run for a close second. Twitchy Frank raced in third place. She looked the winner when she moved up on turning for home and then battled on gamely for a close-up third. Hellova Street showed his usual speed and soon went to the front. He then set a solid tempo (with The Master Speed at his girth) and he did well in holding on for (0.6 lengths) fourth. The favourite I'm Wesley settled in fourth place, one out and one back, improved (deep) at the home turn and then kept fighting on for (0.9 lengths) fifth.
