You’re So Good, runner-up in the recent Australian Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) was the popular elect here ($1.90 favourite). She was caught wide from the outside barrier (8) so Vlad Duric let her go forward and she worked to the lead at the 1200m. She then settled nicely and travelled along at a reasonable pace (first 1000m 61.84) before dashing clear rounding the home turn and going on for a comfortable length and half win. She is a smart filly and likely to go to Sydney for the autumn carnival. Kazanluk led early then eased to trail the leader (You’re So Good) and she seemed to race a bit keenly until the tempo increased approaching the turn. She then battled on quite well, on the rails, without threatening, to get second in a photo. Summerbliss raced closer than expected in fourth spot one off the rails until nearing the turn. She took a while to wind up and then ran on resolutely for a solid third – a dour, strong staying type - she looks on target for the longer distance fillies’ events at the Sydney Carnival. Alzora raced outside the leader (You’re So Good) until under pressure approaching the home turn. She then battled on quite well for (1.9 lengths) fourth with Hai Lil making some ground to finish fifth, beaten about three lengths. *ANZ
