Samaready was impressive. She was first out of the barrier but Craig Newitt then eased her and she settled in sixth place. She tracked up nicely at the 700m (wide with cover) before making her bid nearing the corner (four wide). She dashed to the lead at the 100m then raced away for an easy win, scoring by four lengths. Buffering was three wide early and worked hard to find the lead. He was then pressured in front and had no answer to the winner’s challenge in the straight, holding on for second. Le Bonsir got a nice run from his good barrier (2) being third on the rails most of the way to the turn. He then held on surprisingly well to fill the minor placing. Moment Of Change was prominent all the way, but was trapped three wide, and he did well to hold on for fourth after a hard run. Conservatorium was fifth one off the rails to the turn and held on nicely for fifth. Bel Sprinter again missed the start and was always well back before finishing sixth. Epaulette was midfield most of the way and failed to run on in the conditions to finish seventh while Snitzerland showed her customary pace, raced outside the leader but disappointed, dropping out to finish eighth. *ANZ
