A well-deserved Group One victory to Buffering who crossed to lead from his wide barrier before obtaining a mid race breather. He was pressed for the lead by Shamexpress approaching the home turn but he fought that challenge off and then responded to riding to hold on to score a narrow but good win. Lucky Nine was good in defeat. He was quickly out of the gates but restrained to fourth early. When the pace slacked he moved up to be second travelling well. He dropped the bit on the home turn and looked beaten before coming again in the straight and just missing out in a tight finish. He will be improved for the run. Sessions came from midfield in the run. He was over-racing and forced three and four wide from the 650m. He finished on gamely for third sustaining a long run in what was a good game effort. Moment of Change was slowly away and settled down worse then midfield on the fence. He over-raced in the middle stages of the race when the pace slackened and commenced a run three and four wide approaching the 600m. He was looking for clear running on turning for home, but when clear rushed home late to be closest at the finish. It was a good run under the circumstances of the race. Rebel Dane was also good from back in the field, settling down third last before commencing a wide run from the 700m. He was buffeted between runners on cornering and when clear on the outside he finished strongly for fifth. Bel Sprinter enjoyed a nice run three back on the fence. He was held up and cut out on the home turn, he finished on gamely back towards the fence when clear in the straight. *ANZ
