Attractive colt Galaxy Pegasus scored a narrow but most promising win, after two country wins from his first three starts. He settled nicely in fifth place on the rails, behind a solid tempo (first 600m 34.64). He improved well between runners at the 600m, switched out on turning for home and took the lead at the 100m. He then fought in good style to score in a photo finish. Law had a good trip being a handy third on the rails. He was held up for a run at the turn but got a split at the 100m and then battled on well for a close second. Nicoscene was fourth, one out and one back, moved up nicely to take a narrow lead on straightening. He then fought on for third, beaten a length, after seeming to have every chance. The winner’s stablemate Shaf was near last in the ten-horse field to the 600m, improved (wide out) at the home turn and ran on quite well for (2.4 lengths) fourth, looking suited to further.
