Consistent two-year-old The Voice was eased at the start and got a nice run in fourth spot one off the rails in a slow early pace (first 800m 51.15). He eased out three wide at the 600m but was under pressure in the sprint home (last 600m 35.05). He kept responding in the straight, grabbed the lead at the 150m and went on to win well by half length. Murtle Turtle was fifth on the rails, switched between runners on straightening and fought on well for a good second. The favourite Bulbula raced behind the leader (White Roe), was blocked for a run on turning for home, switched back to the rails at the 200m and got her chance over the final stages before finishing third with White Roe, who had led to 300m, finishing fourth. *ANZ
