Shadwell’s Faatinah followed his good first-up win here on 16 April with another good effort, advancing to Group Two class. He was smartly away, raced outside the leader (American Star) before going to the front at the 200m. He then fought back to win well, sprinting home in a smart 33.94. Sooboog missed the start badly from his inside barrier (1) and was last in the early stages. He was still well back (on the rails) at the home turn, switched across heels at the 200m and finished well, late for an unlucky second. Godolphin’s Demonstrate went back from his wide barrier (13) and came with a fast, late finish for third, in a really smart performance. Secret Agenda was eighth at the home turn, put in a run at the 200m and battled on nicely for (1.4 lengths) fourth. The joint-favourite Miss Gunpowder was seventh on the rails, angled into clear running in the straight but disappointed, just battling on over the final stages for (2.4 lengths) seventh.
